It was truly the perfect summer getaway. Southwest Michigan offers something for everyone - from delicious food and charming towns to exciting outdoor adventures. If you’re looking for a lakeside getaway close to Chicago, I highly recommend it!

A delightful breakfast at a charming cafe fueled me for a day of exploring.
The Culinary Cottage
The cooking class at the Culinary Cottage was a highlight, learning to make delicious gluten-free cinnamon rolls. Book this experience early as they do sell out!
Anemel
Lunch at Anemel was a local Tex-Mex favorite and it lived up to the hype.
Warren Dunes State Park
Sandboarding at Warren Dunes was thrilling! I rented equipment from Third Coast Paddling and had an absolute blast.
Emma Hearth & Market
Dinner at Emma Hearth & Market was an incredible farm-to-table feast. Some of the best pizza we’ve had!

Verde Juice Box
A quick breakfast to-go from Verde Juice Box set me up for the day. Great and healthy options. Plus, a beautiful interior!
Fruit Acres Farm Market
Picking my own fresh produce at Fruit Acres Farm Market was one of my favorite activities! Cherries were in season while we were there and we had an amazing time picking them!
Hill District
Lunch at Hill District was a satisfying end to the culinary adventures and a chance to explore the Makers Trail. Pair great food with their craft beverages.
Paw Paw River
A relaxing kayak trip on the scenic Paw Paw River was the perfect way to unwind. I rented my kayaks from Third Coast Paddling and enjoyed the peaceful waters
