Eden Springs Park - Miniature Train Rides
Event published by Eden Springs Park
We have a working railway here at Eden Springs
Park! Charming and authentic, these original House of David engines and
passenger cars have been lovingly restored by our team of volunteers and trained
experts. Train rides are available Saturdays & Sundays in July through
Labor Day weekend from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm - $3 per person, with kids 3 &
under free.
The miniature trains have a long-standing history with the park. House
of David colony workers laid the 15-inch gauge track, built both the gas-powered and steam-powered engines, and ran the park until the early 1970s. The
whistles from the steam engine trains echoed through the valley until the park
was closed down. The area is rich in history and lore. A volunteer is
generally available to give walking tours through the park on request
Eden Springs amusement park was established in 1908 by The Israelite House of David and attracted visitors by carload until closing in the mid-1970s. The park boasted a zoological park with a bear, lions, monkeys, birds, and more, goldfish ponds, a miniature auto raceway, a bowling alley, an outdoor amphitheater that provided family entertainment throughout the week, as well as an outdoor beer garden, photo booths, glorious garden displays, and the miniature trains. The trains were so successful that the first year 70,000 tickets were sold.
Come make a memory with your family! Take a train ride and visit our museum and grounds.
