Southwest Michigan Screams with Halloween Happenings for Adults

Who says Halloween is just for kids? Not us! You may be too old to go trick-or-treating, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t dress up and join in on the fun. You’ll find plenty of Halloween activities in Southwest Michigan that are made just for adults. Here’s a list of local, can’t-miss festivities that will raise your spirits (and your glass) this Halloween season.

Hallowine Week Celebration: Dablon Winery & Vineyard, Baroda, October 26-31
Dablon’s Hallowine Week of spooky fun kicks off with the Music Box Feature Film “Therapy for a Vampire” at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26. Admission is FREE and you can take advantage of their $4 off wine bottles promotion, too! If you love wine and candy pairings, they’ll be serving up yummy treat-combos all week for just $10. And, don’t forget to come decked out in your favorite Halloween costume for a chance to win a Dablon gift card. Share your photos on Instagram and Facebook, tagging @dablonvineyards and using the hashtag #cabfrancenstein to enter. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Hallo-Wine Party: Vineyard 2121, Benton Harbor, October 28, 5-9 p.m.
This Hallo-WINE Party features wine and cider tastings, wine slushies, wood fire pizzas, “Scarioke,” and a costume contest with prizes! It’s strictly for ages 21 years and up (bring your valid I.D.) and costumes are encouraged.

Halloween Party: Tapistry Brewing, Bridgman, October 28, 7-11 p.m.
Make Tapistry part of your Halloween celebration! They will have their Third Annual Costume Contest, raffle, live music from 7-10 p.m. by singer/songwriter Robert Rolfe Feddersen, food, and of course, great beer! The costume contest, judged by Tapistry employees, will begin at 7 p.m. and the winners will be announced at 10 p.m. The top three costumes will get Tapistry gift cards — first place: $50, second place: $25 and third place: $10.

Libido Funk Circus: Hard Rock Café at Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, October 28, 10 p.m.
If you’re not ready for the party to end, come dance to the beat of Libido Funk Circus. They’ll entertain adults of all ages with their dance and rock songs spanning from the 60’s to today’s hits. Not into dancing? Have a rocking good time just hanging out in the loft area with your friends. What a great way to end the night!

HalloWine Party: Round Barn Winery, Distillery and Brewery, Baroda, October 29, 1-7 p.m.
They’ll be casting a spell over this popular stop on Southwest Michigan’s Makers Trail during their HalloWine Party. Sip wine, craft beer and seasonal cocktails like “Witch’s Brew” and feed your fears with tasty grub from the Round Barn Grille. Come in full costume or cast your vote for best employee costume while listening to live music by Rebecca Anne Band. They promise a spook-tacular time!

Weko Beach Brewers Festival: Weko Beach, Bridgman, October 29, 1-7 p.m.
What do you get when you combine picturesque beach views, Michigan craft brews, live music and football all together? A fall festival you’ll remember for years to come and a great start to your Halloween weekend! Sample over 80 beers from 23 Michigan breweries and enjoy local cuisine at this 7th annual festival.

Advance tickets are available until noon October 28 for $25 at www.wekobeachbrewersfest.com, Harding’s in Bridgman, and many area breweries. Or they may be purchased at the gate for $35. The price includes admission to all festival events and 15 beer tasting tickets. The beautiful lake view and spectacular sunset are free.

Food from Classic Catering and Lake Street Eats is sold separately on a cash-only basis. Live music will keep the party going and there will be a tent set up where you can watch the University of Michigan/Michigan State football game on two big screen TVs! You won’t want to miss this!

Parking is available offsite with free shuttles from lots along Red Arrow Highway. No parking will be available at Weko Beach. Free shuttles are also available from nearby hotels for their lodging guests including in Stevensville: Baymont, Candlewood, Comfort Suites, and Super 8; in St. Joseph: Econo Lodge, Holiday Inn, Inn at Harbor Shores, and Silver Beach; and in Benton Harbor: Best Western, Comfort Suites, Days Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn and Red Roof Inn. Howl-o-ween Dogtoberfest: North Pier Brewing Company, Benton Harbor, October 30, 2:30-5:30 p.m.
For all of you dog-lovers out there (like me), come to the “Howl-o-ween Dogtoberfest” and help out Healing Paws Therapy Dogs. Dress up your puppy pals in costume and bring them to trick-or-treat and participate in the “Best in Show Contest.” Lots of prizes are in store! While your tail-wagging best friends wolf down their treats you can enjoy hot dogs, brats, chili and handcrafted beer! There will also be live music by Larry Johnson, a photo booth and football games on TV. Dog walkers will be available, too, ($1 a walk) so you can relax and enjoy the event while your pup burns some energy. Admission: $10 per person or $20 per family.
