Out of the Box: Open Mic
Event published by Box Factory for the Arts
Out of the Box Open Mic returns to the Box Factory for the Arts stage with an expanded schedule and a new Showcase format. Beginning on Wednesday, June 7, Open Mic will be offered every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. with rotating hosts introducing the Showcase performers and the scheduled acts.
The Showcase acts scheduled for 30-minute slots in June are Mockingbird on June 7; Simon and Garfunkel Songs by John Tolhuizen on June 14; traditional blues with Fred Story on June 21; and the Sand Rabbits on June 27.
Performers including musicians, poets, writers, and storytellers are all welcome to perform in the Open Mic portion. Their performances must comply with the Box Factory's commitment to family-friendly entertainment. Sound equipment will be provided and operated by the hosts for the evening.
Those wishing to participate in an Open Mic time slot should contact the hosts for scheduling at OpenMic@boxfactoryforthearts.org at least one week prior to the Wednesday deadline. Performers will not be charged a fee. Audience members, except children under 12 accompanied by an adult, will be asked to pay $5 at the door.
