The Morton House Museum in Benton Harbor will feature a special program about immigration on February 13th.
In the museum’s history series, immigration is this year’s theme, and Penny Sempert will share the fascinating story of Samuel McGuigan, an Irish immigrant from the 1840s who became the first village president of Benton Harbor in 1866.
The story of Samuel McGuigan provides a glimpse of how immigration contributed to the development and growth of Benton Harbor and Southwest Michigan.
