Bitter Battle: The Elections That Changed Berrien County

The voices of the people!
Today, the county seat is firmly nestled in the city of St. Joseph, but the path to get there was fraught with elections, insults, and mudslinging from all sides. In the BCHA’s first exhibit of 2023, we will explore the events that drove voters to move the county seat from Berrien Springs to its current home. In addition to period papers, guests will have a chance to participate in the elections themselves!
The exhibit will run from April 5 to July 4 inside the Sheriff’s Residence. All of our events are free, but donations are welcomed to support their care and upkeep.
