Sugarwood Forest Preserve

This 40-acre preserve features a scenic landscape of beech-maple forest, wooded ravines, tributary streams, and restored native prairie. Portions of the property contain mature, old-growth forest, while other wooded areas are gradually regenerating from their agricultural past. At the southern end, a former farm field is being restored to native prairie, adding another important habitat to the preserve. A network of hiking trails loops through the forest and prairie, offering opportunities to enjoy spring wildflowers, summer blooms, fall colors, and wildlife throughout the seasons.
