A Colorful Welcome to Dowagiac

A vibrant mural has been added to the downtown landscape of Dowagiac, Michigan. Created by artist Joe Scola, the "Welcome to Dowagiac, Michigan" mural graces the Commercial Street-facing wall of Deck The Halls. Commissioned by Jeff and Melissa Gunn, the artwork is a colorful tribute to the community's unique character.

Inspired by vintage postcards, the mural showcases iconic local imagery. The letters of "Dowagiac" incorporate elements like golfing, bonfires, the downtown skyline, fishing, inland lakes, the city flag, dogwood plants, and local runners.

The goal is for the mural to become a popular spot for photos and a symbol of the town's charm.
