Burns Prairie Preserve

This 38-acre preserve is being restored to resemble the mesic, or moist, prairies that were once common across Michigan but are now considered critically imperiled. The landscape features native prairie grasses such as big bluestem and Indian grass, along with colorful summer wildflowers including black-eyed Susan, purple coneflower, and butterfly weed. A seasonal wetland has also been re-established, adding to the diversity of habitats found on the property.
