Point O' Woods Golf & Country Club, renowned for its championship pedigree, has long been a prestigious venue for amateur golf, particularly through its long-standing relationship with the Western Amateur. This deep-rooted tradition of hosting the very best in amateur golf has fostered countless memories for both competitors and members. As part of its commitment to excellence, the club is excited to announce the introduction of the Jim DeLapa Collegiate—a premier collegiate event that will carry forward the club's legacy while creating new milestones in the world of amateur golf.

A New Chapter for Point O' Woods. Beginning in 2025, Point O' Woods will host the Jim DeLapa Collegiate, an event designed to bring together the elite of collegiate golf. This prestigious competition will feature 15 top Division 1 golf programs from across the United States, showcasing the brightest and most promising amateur golfers in the country. Held on the fourth weekend in September each year, the event will span from 2025 to 2028.The event will be played over three days, with the competition set to consist of 54 holes of medal play. Teams will first play a practice round on Saturday, followed by 36 holes of medal play on Sunday. The tournament will conclude with 18 holes of competition on Monday, where both individual and team champions will be crowned. The champions will be celebrated Monday afternoon, ensuring a fitting end to what promises to be an exciting and competitive weekend.
