Kennedy's Kitchen Concert

Event published by Box Factory for the Arts

What better way to get ready for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebration than with pub songs, sing-alongs, and ripping dance tunes from the Celtic tradition? That’s the fare that will be presented by Kennedy’s Kitchen on Saturday, March 8, 7-9 p.m., at the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St.

Make sure to reserve your seats for this popular Irish music band from South Bend, IA. Tickets are $25 for cabaret seating in front or $15 for general admission if purchased in advance at ticketstripe.com/kennedys-kitchen. Tickets at the door are $20. Free admission for children 12 and under. A cash bar will be available.

Kennedy's Kitchen is billed as “kitchen music from the home, the hearth, and the heart.” Indeed, the group of family and friends have been gathering for dinner, laughter, and music rooted in the Irish tradition for over 25 years. That means toe-tapping jigs, reels, hornpipes, and aires along with songs and comedic stories.

The band is led by award-winning singer, guitarist, and storyteller John Kennedy who is joined by Chris O'Brien, Joel Cooper, Mike Bill, and Nancy Turner. Together, they sing and play fiddle, flute, whistle, bouzouki, banjo, harmonica, bodhran, and bass—with kazoo sometimes thrown in for good measure.

Kennedy’s Kitchen has released six CDs. Hear them at kennedyskitchen.com. And polish off your best Irish brogue for St. Paddy’s Day!

Admission: $15-25
