Raku Walk Through

Event published by Buchanan Art Center

May 23, 2020
10:00am - 2:00pm

117 W. Front St.

Experience the dynamic coming together of clay, fire, smoke, and water!

Select a bisque fired piece of pottery made in house by one of our resident potters.  Price varies by size, but generally range from $10-25. After you choose and purchase your pieces, the BAC Raku Crew will walk you through the glazing process. The Raku Crew will then prepare your piece for firing in our outdoor kilns where you can observe the process or grab a quick bite at one of the many eateries within walking distance. When the pieces are removed from the first kiln they are placed in a reduction bin with combustible materials. These materials and lower temperature are what combine to create unique and surprising results with your glaze! Unpredictable

Call ahead to reserve a time slot for your group. Some walk-in spaces may be available but are not guaranteed.

Admission: $10-25
