The Golf Club at Harbor Shores is a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that is recognized for the high standards of Nicklaus Design. Harbor Shores will be the home of the 2012 and 2014 Sr. PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid. Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, this course is first of its class in Michigan's Great Southwest.
This championship golf course challenges players of every skill level all while providing spectacular views. The 18-hole course will feature three dramatic holes with sweeping views of Lake Michigan; nine holes bordering the beautiful banks of the Paw Paw River, Ox Creek and its wetlands; and six holes through rolling hills and ravines. The experience at Harbor Shores exceeds the expectations of even the most discerning guests.
2012 will also introduce a new clubhouse campus with a restaurant, patio, private meeting room, training academy, and event pavilion. The golf course hosts golf outings throughout the season. The restaurant will feature special menus, themed events, and will cater to charity events, weddings, rehearsal dinners, celebrations, and business meetings.
The Golf Club at Harbor Shores has a strong connection to art and the local community. Each hole has been named after plants indigenous to the area. At each hole, a metal sculpture with at least one piece of hand-blown glass holds a plaque describing one of Jack Nicklaus' major championships. The tee box project was a partnership between the Golf Club at Harbor Shores and the Benton Harbor Arts District.
