Hunting
Hunters will also enjoy fall and winter seasons for a wide variety of small and large game that inhabit Southwestern Michigan woods and fields.

Most hunting seasons vary, but
- Deer season is October 1 - November 14
- December 1 - January 1 (bow and arrow)
- November 15 - 30 (firearms)

- Rabbit season is September 15 - March 31

- Squirrel is September 15 - January l

- Grouse/woodcock is September 15 - November 14.

State hunting licenses and permission of the landowners are required throughout most of the region. Limited hunting is permitted at:
- Cass County's Crane Pond State Game Reserve
- Dr. T.K. Lawless Park
- Van Buren County's Fowler Farms Shooting Preserve.
